Happy Random of Acts of Kindness Day!!

I love Random Acts of Kindness!  It should be everyday!!  There are so many nice things you can do for people everyday!  I love a surprise!  Especially happy mail!  My mailbox is always full of junk mail.  I love to actually get a letter!  Now everything is email.  It's just not the same as a letter in the mail.  It is faster but that's about it.

It is snowing here again!  I hope we don't end up with much, just enough to cover the dirty snow.

Fat Tuesday!

It's that time of year again!  Time for Mardi Gras!  Did you have Paczki today?  The special polish donuts!

My Aunt and Uncle used to love to go to New Orleans every year for Mardi Gras.  I have never been there.

Today marks 47 days til Easter.  Each year Mardi Gras takes place before the start of Lent and it's date is different each year due to the timing of Easter.  Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday” because it marks the last night of eating rich foods before fasting for Lent.
Mardi Gras also refers to carnivals that take place from Epiphany (Three Kings Day), which celebrates the revelation of God as incarnate Jesus Christ.
One of the most famous events of Mardi Gras is the Brazilian Carnival in Rio De Janeiro, when roughly two million hit the streets to watch.

National Lost Penny Day!

Today is National Lost Penny Day!  I always pick up pennies when I see them.  Every penny adds up.  I have a change jar in the bathroom so everybody can put their change in it from the day.  Otherwise, change ends up every where.

Currently, we have so much snow that I couldn't find any pennies no matter how hard I tried today.

National Pizza Day!

What a great day!  Pizza is a food that you can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It's good warm or cold.  You never get bored with pizza because there are so many varieties of toppings.  Something different every day!

Well, I guess here in the mid west we were too lucky this year.  We have had very little snow, until the ground hog predicted 6 more weeks of winter!  Every since, we've been we getting snow off and on.  Until last night, it started snowing around 6pm yesterday and it is still snowing today.  It just doesn't stop.  Oh well, I guess we were due.  I did really like not having so much snow this year.  Oh well.

National Send a Card to a Friend Day!

I really like today's topic.  National Send a Card to a Friend Day!  It's super cold and snowy outside today so it's a perfect day to stay inside and get some cards ready for the mail.  I like to make my own cards.  I find stamping lots of fun!  Keeps me busy and love being creative.

Frozen Yogurt Day?!

Today is Frozen Yogurt Day.  This sounds much too cold for me considering last night it snowed and it's suppose to snow again this week starting this evening.  I think it should be coffee day, soup day or something warm!

Groundhog Day!

Here are some funny things about Groundhog Day.  After Phil emerges from his burrow, he speaks to the Groundhog Club President in Groundhogese.  His proclamation is then translated for the world.  I think if I were the groundhog that someone just took out it's warm burrow where I was hibernating, I would not be talking about the weather!!

There is only one true weather forecasting groundhog.  The others are just imposters.

Punxsutawney Phil got his name from the town in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney and the Phil from King Phillip.

Punxsutawney Phil is suppose to be 125 years old.  Groundhogs live around 6-10 years normally.  However, Punxsutawney Phil drinks a special 'drink' in the summer which adds 7 years to his life.  He gets his special 'drink' every summer.

The things you never knew you never knew!
