The Penny Wise Arts Pity Party Swap, is a swap for those of us who are unable to attend the Worlds Largest Shoebox Party in Seattle, WA. I have hosted it for the last several years. I spent the afternoon sorting and swapping all the projects! Return swaps will go in the mail on Monday to everybody! Still waiting for one more swap to arrive; it was delayed in the mail somewhere. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Saturay. We even made some extra swaps to donate to the Penny Wise Arts Lynn Jennings Scholarship Fund! The priority envelopes are stuffed full!

This card was done using the Crayon Resist techinque and the Big and Little Botanicals stamp set from The Stamping Studio.

Rubber Stamping

I want to start adding more art to my blog, so my first post is a technique that I found thru Hero Arts Online. I really like to look of this one and it has many possiblities. (I made some alterations to use things that I own.)

Crayon Resist Technique

You will need:
Glossy paper
Dye based inks
A white crayon or I used the clear crayon that comes in Easter egg decorating kits
Sponges
Stamps of choice, I used stamps from The Stamping Studio
Black StazOn ink

Let's get started:

1. Stamp your image onto white glossy paper with stanzOn ink. Allow to dry.
2. Trace the image with the white or clear crayon. Trace to imitate shadowing.
3. Add color by blotting or swipping ink applied to a sponge. Blend colors as you go.
4. When you are finished adding your color, wipe and buff the image with a clean paper towel. The areas of resist will pop.

It's fun and easy!!
