An incredible lady!

A blog I read frequently posted about a lady named Barb today.  In the post, it explained how Barb is building an orphanage and already has a well for children she didn't know before this.  Barb's website is

She is such an inspiring lady.

Matthew 25:35-40
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothed you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"

Please consider helping Barb financially or just by spreading the word to help build the much needed wall around the orphanage.

My book!

This is the cover of the book I created during the E-course I took that was offered by Jeanne Oliver.  Her website is:   She is an amazing lady!!

I took an old book from the thrift store and cut the cover and back off of it.  I then cut two shapes out of the front cover with an craft blade.  I stamped, used micro beads, and added little embellishments.  The 'new' binding on the book is done with string and five holes.

The chair I took this picture on, is a little childs recliner that my son loved as a child.  Now it's well loved by our fur-children.  One of our cats just loves to lay there and watch TV!  Our dog used to love to sit there too.

I took an E-course!!

These are pages from the book I created while taking an e-course offered by Jeanne Oliver.  I really enjoyed the class!  One of my favorite quotes she used is, 'Training is the opposite of Hoping'  I thought that said a lot.

My canvas

I created this on a 14 x 18 canvas.  I die cut the letters, stamped, colored and cut out the flowers, the three birds are from a punch and the sun is a circle cut to fit.  I used lots of Mod Dodge over everything.  I found the saying online and really liked it.

'Treat people the wa you want to be treated.  Talk to people the way you want to be talked to.  Respect is earned not given.'

I want to frame this and put it outside on my shed.

card for a friend

I created this card for a friend of mine.  I used clear microbeads over the image and a Fiskars limited edition (Jenni Bowlin) punch for the bird on the right.

Purse of Duct Tape

I wove Duct Tape together to create this little purse.  I added a Duct Tape flower and glitter to the center of it.  The flower is hard to see because I did it in black.  It's in the right corner.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes; even more important than what other people may think or say or do.  It is more important than appearances, giftedness, or skill.  It will make or break a company...a church...a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past.  We cannot changes the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our attitude.  I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.  And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.

I find this to be very true!!  How often do we let our attitude drag us down?!  Or let the attitudes of others drag us down.

I was asked last weekend by a girl we see often who works at Culver's how we manage to be happy everytime she sees us.  I told her that it's a choice to be happy and why not do it!!  Sure, we all have our bad days and days we'd like to strangle our spouse but thru it all, we are very blessed, we just need to get over our frustration.
