Painted Floor Mat

This was a black rubber floor mat.  You could put it by the door for people to wipe their feet on before coming into the house.  Although, instead I decided to paint it and use it on the floor in my craft area downstairs.  It's done with acrylic paint.  I just brushed several coats on til it was the shade I wanted.  The part that takes the longest is waiting for coats of paint to dry.

Interesting Experiment

This was a picture drawn by a little boy who is 2.5 years old.  He drew this and put it in my bag.  I had heard about parents coloring in their childrens crayon drawings.  So I decided to try it out.  I colored in his orange scribbles.  It works best with pictures the kids draw that have lines that are not too close together.

Been busy

This is the mat that I have been working on.  It is a 2' by 3' rubber mat.  I used acrylic paints on it and a clear matte sealer.  I used it in my craft area.

I have several other photos of craft projects that I have been working.  I will post them soon.

Clean Eating

Clean Eating....This is something that I have started doing.  There are so many preservatives in food these days, not to mention chemicals.  All the things that were never in foods when I was growing up.  I decided it's time to take back my diet and actually start cooking!  Everybody gets so used to being in a hurry and grabbing something quick, whether that's fast food, or a frozen dinner of some kind.  It's time to start looking at what ingredients are in things and actually cook.  There are lots of alternatives you can do.  I have prepared things on one day and froze them in large zip lok bags.  Then it's pretty easy when I'm in a hurry to still have a good meal.  I just defrost a zip lok and cook it for dinner that night.

I am doing a clean eating challenge.  If you'd like the grocery list and recipes let me know and I'll be sure you get them.

Gray hair

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.

Proverbs 16:31

Gray hair isn't so bad.  I have also called it my strands of glitter!

Learn as You Go

I have learned a lot over all these years.  I find that most of the time, I tend to learn things by experience.  Sometimes, things look like one thing however when you start to learn about it, it is totally different than you were originally told.  I find that to be true with a lot of the multilevel marketing companies out there.  Several times I have been misled by representatives of various companies who are really just trying to make a sale or want you to join their team so they can earn money off you that way.  I have learned to check things out for myself and not to get caught up in the rep's excitement.  They want you to make a rushed decision about joining.  I have done this with several companies only to be disappointed later.  Making me want to not go to 'parties'.  I have learned people will tell you what you want to hear, or what they think sounds good.  Some of the people who are your 'friend' are only your friend when it benefits them.

I am letting go of some things that I feel I have no use for anymore.  Purchases that were influenced by those representatives.  I am going to put together a garage sale and sell some on ebay.  I just feel that by lighting the load, so to speak, it will be refreshing.
